Short story
I bought a 23 T delivery it had been sitting for a while. had good compression but a stuck valve. redid the heads new valves and springs. opened up trans and put new wooden bands cleaned it all up good. And it started up after a little work. But I cant stop the wheels from spinning. I have tried the emergency brake and it bougs the engine down. Did i do something wrong while i was in transmission? Can all the adjustments be made from the side of the transmission? Is this a cluch issue or something else i need to look at? I have read that there is three adjustments inside trans but not sure how to mess with them. The book says to rotate them clockwise but from what starting point. I just need alittle direction in which way to go? Thanks Andy 910 630-6683
When you step on the low pedal to go forward, that tightens the band to stop a spinning drum, putting the car in gear. Sounds like you may have the band too tight and it's grabbing the drum without any pedal action. I believe proper adjustment has the band achieving "full grab" with the pedal about an inch above the floor board. See Paragraphs 524, 525, and 526 on Page 134.
I would agree with Steve. If all you did was replace the bands. If you did any work on the clutch, however, it could be a high speed clutch problem. In that case the clutch is not releasing when you go into neutral or pull on the parking brake. Most likely problem is the low band too tight. If the wheels are spinning backward it would be the reverse bend too tight.

I called andy. He adjusted the clutch release bolt so that the lever moves about 1/2" upwards when the parking brake is pulled. That fixed his problem.
Great! Something the source of a problem is simple to fix. Glad Royce was able to help you. Have fun with your T.

Andy, I did not know that they made T's in 1025?

Andrew, those were the early English Fords known as Saxons.
