Roughing it!
Herb
Looks a little different than my camping experience.
Looks like they've borrowed Dean Yoder's trailer.
Nowadays "roughing it" is having to put your top down to put her to bed for the night!
Steve that trailer is fancier than mine . It has fenders and taller bows.
No, Mike today "roughing it" is adding another layer to keep the heat in.
When I build my trailer I'll have to shop for canvas that smells like the tent my dad bought right after the war. Those of you who experienced that tent scent as kids know what I'm talking about.
Smell ??? Just go into any real Army/Navy store. When I was in the Scouts, we were using old WW2 surplus pup tents, the two shelter half type.
Steve,,,that's the stuff I'm looking for to make the side curtains for my depot hack......I won't give up looking .......
Check out pup tents on ebay.

Steve - As I remember, that smell was even more pronounced after the sun came up in the morning and shone on that canvas for awhile! Not a particularly good smell, but not a bad smell either; just unique to canvas that had been treated some way for waterproofing I think. The canvas also had a slightly "waxy" feel to it too. Actually, maybe it was the smell of wax,.......???
