Does anyone recognise this small cast attachment to the windscreen pillar as a Ford manufactured part? I need one for my car and wondered if it was French or USA made? Any ideas please?Windscreen attachment

Do a keyword search for Rettig in text. Bailey's 1923 French bodied car is shown.

It looks to me like a top bow attachment. But it is not one I have seen before and not a common U S Ford item. I would guess that the large bolt is not an original part to it. I would imagine it would have had (what we in the U S call) a wing bolt (like a wing nut). I do not have a clue to what they would have called it in England or France.
It does look like it would be easy to make one. That is what I would do (and have done many times).
And then again, I am no expert with European built bodies. So what do I know.
Good luck!
Drive carefully, and enjoy, W2

Wouldn't be a Ford part. But finding a mate could be difficult....

Many companies made accessory tops, and stanchions, here are a couple of different front bow to stanchion brackets, one is a Dodge, (mid 20's) the other is unknown mfg.

Good news folks, I have found identical pieces on a British vintage parts suppliers website, it is www.vintagesupplies.com. They are chromed, but that can be overcome.

Ian, if it were French, it would include a corkscrew... :-)

Even better news, I found the other matching one on a piece of the old frame for the top!! I had looked before but it was covered by old canvas.
