I have just sent the pattern out for the cast brass exhaust pack nuts, Ford's were cast and they will look just like the original, and hopefully bring the pRice down a bit, Bob
Kewl .. may be in time for my pipe install! :-)
If it works better than the brass ones, I'm in!
I'm sick of having to bring out the monster wrench to get the pack nut off! And then of course, I'll eventually give up on it, drive the T around a bit, and then it will come right off by hand!
I usually make a little locking device out of a piece of light strap iron and a hose clamp; similar to the device that the vendors sell. Seems like otherwise, I'm always having the darn nut work itself loose.
And here's a strange thing; not sure if this happens to anyone else, but for some strange reason, I've always had to struggle with that big brass nut, as either tightening or taking it off, it seems to want to bind and be difficult. However, after I got one of those big heavy "monster wrenches" as you call it Cameron, those big brass nuts seem to go on and off much smoother and easier. Not my imagination either, 'cause I've used it several time on several different "T's and it always goes much easier than it used to in the past with some other type of wrench. (???)
Good for you Bob! I've been fighting poorly made cast, and machined brass nuts for years. I always use originals because they work. Make sure they do the proper job, and I guarantee your product will sell. And by the way, I love to use my monster wrenches, they do the job, and are a pleasure to use, originals of course!
Thank you guys, should have 1st samples next week, Bob
