I have received the approval letter from the OCF committee today. They have blessed my 1912 Torpedo Roadster and I will be bringing it this year! Got your letter yet? See you there.

I went last year, but it was so crowded with cars driving that I chose not to apply again this year. Greenfield village is just too small to be able to drive around.

Awesome time to go if you want to see cars. Models A, AC, N, R, S, etc. Not to mention all the other brands in the displays. Excellent walking tour and the car display in the Henry Ford should be finished.

I received my approval letter today too! I will be bringing my 1926 Model T coupe. I will be staying at the Comfort Inn on Michigan Ave. Just looking at Google maps to map out the route to the parking lot. Hope to see ya there.

Anyone seeking advice concerning the Old Car Festival is welcome to contact me via my profile. I am in Dearborn daily and like to think I know the area reasonably well.

I've been participating at the OCF for well over thirty years now and can offer advice regarding local hotels and the local restaurants.

And yes, my wife, son, and I all got our acceptance letters so we'll be there.

To confirm Dave's comment. Yes the car display inside the museum is completed and re-opened to visitors. Lamy's Diner inside the museum is now functional and is serving lunch both inside the diner as well as in a raised area outside of the diner. The drive-in theatre is now enclosed and it is offering a new movie. The Lionel trains are set up next to the large locomotive and are operated year round much to the delight of the kiddies.

Additionally the Titanic archives exhibit is inside the museum and will be open through September 30.

I hoped to attend this year's OCF as a spectator, but with my day job and side work going crazy busy I doubt I will make it.

With any luck I'll be there next year with one of the old Fords.

I do know I'm long overdue for my traditional "Ford History Vacation", a couple weeks spent looking at Ford sites and studying materials at the Ford Archives.

So what all is involved to get your car accepted?

The show is always the weekend after Labor Day. To enter, download an entry form and mail it to them before the July deadline and also pay an entry fee. You can attach a photo in mailed entries or email the photo to them.

William,

Get an official application from The Henry Ford, Supply information on your car - year make, model, do you want to be judged or not, and your insurance policy carrier and number. They do require a photo of the vehicle, and that it be as made at the factory with certain exceptions.

I got my approval yesterday also. Will be bringing our '14 Touring and looking forward to seeing all of you and your cars.

Bud DeLong - I haven't heard from you lately, will you be there?

Keith
