I believe that this is a 1916 wheel and I would like to date the wheel and establish a value. The rim is a 14 and half inch diameter.
The "Fordite" wheel rim is painted black as is the hub which is made of steel or cast iron because a magnet attaches to it. Thanks for any assistance.
Sorry for the big picture but I am having issues with my computer today. It is actually smaller than the picture you will see.
I gave one away the other day.
How do you post a picture that large? They won't let ME.
Hal,
It is not the size of the photo that matters it is the size of the image file. Frank's photo is 2,094px × 2,160px in size and the size of the file is about 100Kb. The maximum file size you are allowed to post is 200KB.
Really about 800-1000 pixels wide x about 600-700 high is as large as you need for good quality.

Hal, You make the picture as large as you can and then keep saving it as a JPEG and lower the resolution each time until it gets down to 60 if you are a new member or 200 if you are an old poster with a track record.
Its not the picture size that limits the post it is the pixle count which uses band width. So a small high resolution picture and a large low resolution picture will post at the same size because our web site displays a pixle at a given size.
You can make a large picture with low resolution or a small picture with a lot of detail. My picture has very little detail.
I see the T wheels in the T catalogs for $100 so how much is a nice used one really worth ?
30.00 bucks is what i usually see them at swaps. if it was nice finished wood, maybe 75-100.
Thank you Ed
I was under the impression that the wheel rims were wood 'till after 1918. Are you sure it's Fordite?
John most 14 1/2 in st wheels are wood, the last auction I attended they brought 125-150.00 ea.
Frank, you might want to scratch some paint off the rim to be sure it's not wood!
O. K. I will scratch
So what years are those 14 and a half inch steering wheels used when equipped with a steel spoked hub with four spokes.
Check my next question about a metal Ford coil box that I am now composing.

If I recall correctly, those wheels were made from Fordite for a short time before the larger wheels were introduced. My old buddy had one. Dave
