I am looking at the macs catalog and I am confused. My question is on the drive line.

Do I need both the T2591BN and the T2589 with the T2811 bearings, or are they separate.

Thank you

Get the Glen Chaffin book from MTFCA, then order everything from Lang's. Better prices a lot of times and they'll get your stuff shipped out to you quickly. =) Also, it's a lot easier to take everything apart and figure out what you really need instead of buying parts first.

Thank you :-) I have it apart, and my parts are at my storage unit 12mi away.

Just need to know if I need both sets of bearings.

You need the book first and read it. Also get the Ford Service Manual, as it will detail certain things too.

Some parts are not used in all years.

Just need to know if I need both sets of bearings, of if one is a replacement of the other.

I'm really not an expert, you'll have to wait until tomorrow to see what folks say. It looks to me like the easiest thing would be the Fun Project modern pinion bearing setup. That's how I plan to do mine in a week or two.

No, no, and no. You don't need any of that stuff. I won't tell you what to get, but I'll tell you that I have no intention of ever wasting money again on the stock pinion and thrust bearings, and especially the inner sleeve from Hell. Apparently some people have no trouble with it. But on the planet where I live, it's a colossal pain in the patoot, and in the future I'll use the Fun Projects setup and save myself the grief and hassle. More experienced Model T guys I respect have told me the same.

That said, if you're determined to use the stock setup you want the 2811 ball bearings for your 1916. That assumes the 2589 race is still good, because I don't think anybody sells it new. The 2591 bearing is for 1921-1927. Mac's catalogue has great pictures, but it doesn't tell you that.

My first choice when buying parts for this job would be Glen Chaffin, who wrote the book. Second choice: Lang's, Bob's, Birdhaven, etc.

Thank you, I have a 26-27 rear end so it looks like the 2591 is it.

Thank you Steve. I always like your pictures and videos on how to do.
