Title- "Station Manager's T Model Ford Roadster named 'Alice' ready for inspection of mustering camps and fences."
Note 'Station' translates as 'Ranch' in USA. The station referred to here is a small one, only about 12,500 acres.
Dane, looks like a 25 Dalgety bodied roadster.
That is indeed a small station. Did you hear the one about the Texan and the Aussie talking about their respective cattle properties. The Texan produced a photo of their boundary rider who had just completed a full circuit of the ranch. The photo showed a man in his fifties. The Texan proudly announced that he was only 20 when he began his ride!
The Aussie showed his photo of his station boundary rider, a young lad of 21, on the completion of the circuit of his boundary.
"Can't be all that big then," said the Texan. "He's only a boy."
To which the Aussie replied, "She's big all right.
It was his grandfather who began the ride!"
Sorry Russ. Couldn't help myself!
Allan from down under.
Thanks Allan, great story!
Allan, although different, that reminds me of the story of the Texas rancher who was telling a New Yorker about his ranch. "I can get in my car in the morning and start driving and by evening, I still haven't reached the edge of my ranch." "Ah," said the New Yorker, "such a car I also had."
A Texan, flush from the oil 'bidness' is talking to a Kentuckian about the riches of their states.
After the Texan winds down a bit, the Kentuckian says, "We have enough gold in Fort Knox to build a wall 4 feet high all the way around Texas."
The Texan answers, "Well, go ahead and build your little wall, son, and if we like it, we'll buy it."
