I,ve got one in a 26 touring. Works well for me. Should be ok in a coupe, a sedan would be better with Std. ratio.

I don't have a Ruxtell in my grandfather's 27 coupe, but it does have a 3 to 1 (39-13) gear in it. I live in flat land, but it has seen limited hills and I had no trouble.

Hi Jerry
I have 3:1 gears in a ruckstell in my fordor and dont have any problems. When I put them in I had a standard head and it performed and ran well. I have since installed a Z head and this only improved it more. in my opinion go for it you wont regret it.

Thanks for the info.. We live in the foot hills of Mt. Rainier and a Ruckstell is almost a must here anyway but I am trying this gear ratio. I also have a Z head, mild porting, Back cut valves, will be a header and down draft with a dist. I always thought with the added HP it will be fine witht those gears. I guess I will know very soon. Thanks again.
