What is the name and part number of the screw that is on the steering column just below the steering wheel? It's missing on my 1924 Touring, and it oozes grease. Someone told me that this is a very important screw to prevent really bad things from happening.
Is this a common hardware size, or something "Ford" uncommon.
It is a 6-32 x 9/32 as listed in an original Ford Parts List.
Here we go again.
Actually, it part number T-3505. It locks the cap and keeps it from unscrewing when you turn the wheel. If it comes off, your steering wheel will come with it.
Use a #6-32 x 3/8" in a pinch.
