Does anyone have a single leftover, unused "oversize" band lining they're not using? These are the ones that Red Hook Restorations used to sell. They are Kevlar but are thicker, and are distinguished from the regular linings by the longitudinal black stitching. I need only one but would buy a set. Thanks!

RV, if you can't track the oversize linings down I have had good success with the following. I had a sheetmetal shop roll me some band width strips of 24g sheetmetal. These I clamp between the steel band and an old trans drum and drill the holes for the rivets. Then when fitting the linings to the bands, the rolled piece goes between the band material and the band as a spacer to compensate for worn drums. The spacer does need to be rolled first and it must be clamped to a drum to be drilled, so that it conforms exactly with the band.

Hope this may help if you are stuck!

Allan from down under.

Thanks; I was about to do that when I remembered that these "oversize" linings had once been available. If no one has or will part with any then I will have to do something to shim a standard lining.

R.V.

You might talk to Rocky Mountain Machine. Their Kevlar linings are thicker than original Scandanavia linings and might solve your problem.

Aren't the Wearever linings that Snyder's sell what you are looking for? As I recall they are definitely thicker than the Rocky Mountain linings.

Frank Iaccino of Red Hook Restorations saw my post and came through with some heavier linings, which I received today. Thanks Frank!!

Thanks to all for your suggestions!
