Good afternoon, gang. Hey, I had posted a question last year trying to figure out why my passenger side, rear wheel wobbled when I went down the road.
Many of you posted great ideas on what I could do to determine what tghe problem was.
I can't seem to find that thread.
I hate to ask again, but what should I look for when I take the wheel off this weekend?
If someone comes up with the original link, that would be great too.
Thanks!
Danial
I found the the thread...!
Danial, from the photo on your profile, I see you have demountable wheels. It may be that you need to shim one of the lugs to get the wheel to run true.
Danial, you might give all four tires the pull test. Pull as hard as you can on the top part of the tire (first out than in). There should be very little movement. This checks for loose spokes, loose front bearings and loose nuts on the rear axles. Removing the right rear hub cover would help to see a loose axle nut???
Thanks guys.
I'll check all of the above when I remove it this weekend.
Please add a link to the original thread. I have the same problem and would like to read some hints. Thanks
Was it this one? http://www.mtfca.com/discus/messages/257047/257108.html?1325636859
To remove the wabble in a wood spoked wheel I remove the hub and place a 1x6 board with a vee cut in it across the tire. Then I use a wood router to true up the surface The rim may not run true but the tire will Lee
