Lots of people swear by Autolights.......I swear at them.
I've never had any success with them.

Mine ran ok. Remember that ok is relative. I put in used Champion Xs and they run circles around new 3095s.

Not to belabor the subject but when I got the '27 Tudor it had a set of FOMOCO plugs in it.
It was doggy as hell.
I took out the plugs to see what they looked like and they LOOKED fine.
While I was at it I checked the timer and did some rudimentary checks on the coils........and put in set of OLD NOS X's.
The difference was night and day.

I've been using AC'26s for years. Never a problem. They haven't been made for 40 years though. My other favorite is Champion X. Never have problems with them either.

I run Champion X plugs but have run Motorcraft and Autolite 3095's (made in china?). They both ran okay, but Champion X's made the car seem to run better and sure look better.

All of the plugs run ok. There is a difference, even though I would not have thought so, there is a difference in the way it runs.

I tried Champion-X plugs, but on them, the car didn't run anywhere near as well as with Motorcraft F11 plugs. Go figure. Guess what I need now are some neat, knurled brass thumb-nuts to make the Motorcraft plugs look authentic.

The Auto lites are now made in Mexico, I tried three different sets recently and they all leaked up through the porcelain, I guess they just do not know how to seal them yet!

I get mine at Advance for 1.99 apeice.Actually they keep 10 in stock now at the local store.I must not be the only 1 that was ordering them. They work ok for me.I have a set of AC 26's and love em but I dont run them because I cant get anymore and I save them for later.
I turn around after I run a set of 3095's in the t for a while, take them out, clean them and sell them for 2 bucks at the tractor shows to people that want them for their Maytag and hit and miss engines.:-)

Looks like everybody has their preferred plugs. Maybe we can find someone with multiple cars and have a test. I would do it, but I'm still working one fixing my first. She runs on Motorcraft plugs just fine, though.

I have 3095 Autolite in my speedster, Champion 25 in my roadster, Champion X in my touring, Champion X in the Fordson, 3095 Autolite in my tudor. All 5 engines run very well. I don't have any scientific data but practical experience tells me it does not make much difference if everything else is in good condition and adjusted properly ie, coils, mag, carburetor, wires, connections, timer, etc.

I didn't believe there was a difference and ran 3095s for a few years. Then I tried some old Xs that I pulled from a motor. Just stuck them in my motor and noticed the difference right away. I got to use them for 2 weeks. When I had to give them back, I went out and bought my very own. I could tell on the first start. Funny thing is, I have no clue why the difference but it was noticeable.

I went to the local Auto Value and bought 4 brand new autolites. A week later I took them out and threw them in the trash. When I pulled them out all 4 plugs were to the point where I could move the porcelain back and forth with no problem. When the engine was hot they would really flop back and forth. I've never seen a plug where the porcelain loosened up. I put my motorcrafts back in and I've been running them ever since. I've often wondered how much compression I was losing around the porcelain in those spark plugs. And I know, everyone's going to ask why I threw them in the trash instead of taking them back to the store. And as much as I'd like to tell you it's none of your business, I'll instead tell you that I called the store and told them what had happened and they said I was to bring them back in and they'd send them to the factory to let them look at them. I asked what they would replace them with and they said it depended on what the factory said. I could either have my money back or I could have another set of plugs. As I figured life is to short to deal with businesses that would tell me that, I threw the plugs in the trash. Besides, I didn't have the receipt and I didn't want to go thru that whole load of crap either. I still shop at the store, but now I know what to expect.

Has anyone every tried running one Champion X with three "others" to see if the difference on plugs can be detected when the car is running?

The AC 26's gave me the most satisfaction.
The X's,are just so exspensive.

Well,I'll be danged if the set of 3095's I just bought aint all 4 went to the bad.I bought new 1's a week or so ago and put them in the TT since I was useing it in the parade.well, just today I looked at them while studieing wireing and they are wet and loose as geese.I have several older sets here that have been trouble free.
Dang it.I have 4 26's in my pickup, found 2 more today but that is all I have.Hum,ebay search.Trust me,I will be toteing these 4 back to the store.I even have the boxs because I put the pull outs that were fine, just a year or so old, back in them

Well,I took them back to Advance.got my funds back. All that were on the shelf were made in Mexico to.
I checked and they have 8 Champion 525's in stock, nice looking plug, but made in mexico to for 10 bux each.So I passed.I have plenty of plugs to use for a long time. But I just allways would swap to a new set once in a while since they were reasonable priced.

Just for the record my 15 Touring has been running the Motorcraft F11's for a while now. I don't think it could run any better.

Cheers
