The Great Sand Dunes and the San Luis Valley have been among my favorite places for over forty years. I couldn't go this year, but someday I'll tour there by T. I know it will be a grand experience for all of you.

I'm having a heck of a time getting the photos small enough now to post! :-(
Welcome To Colorado and the mountains!

MOUNTAINS!

David, Charlie & Chloe, we pulled over to give the truck a break - and enjoy the beautiful mountain air - temp at the time 72 degrees! :-)

Sunday Evening at the host hotel in Alamosa, CO.

LOTS of goodies in the goody bag, for anything that might ail you, and all the information and supplies that you could use!

Here in Colorado ice cream is served a little different! There was an ice cream social - the ball in the center is a coconut crusted ball of vanilla ice cream, you got to pick your toppings, of course mine was chocolate!

YUMMY!

Of course I cleaned my plate!

That's it for today. . . tomorrow we go to Great Sand Dunes National Park.

Great to see all those green pictures. From the news reports a month ago, it looked like all Colorado had burned. Have a good tour.

Latched in, headed out of town - Charlie is enjoying the morning air, Chloe curled up trying to her best to stay out of it!

Looking out across the valley towards the mountains.

We were led out by a Model A - and we caught up to two Model T's - guess they didn't hear the announcement regarding where to line up!

The light area in the center is the Sand Dunes - we could see that "light" area most of the way out across the valley!

Due to the late summer rains there is an abundance of wild flowers - so pretty!

T's in the lead!

After the left turn Charlie had his nose back out to the wind, wonder what he was smelling?

Getting closer to the dunes - the closer you get the more fascinating they are!

Entering the park.

Awesome park road!

Coming up to the Park Ranger Booth

David is paying the man!

Some of the group on the back porch of the Visitor's Center, listening to one of the Rangers, looking out at the dunes.

The two Texas T's; backed in, at this point 2 deep at the picnic area.

My favorite T photo of the day - our host hotel is the Ramada. . . had to have the photo with the South Ramada sign. :-)

Last picture of the day from the dunes. While we waited for our lunches to be "delivered" it started raining, I put the camera away, so this is it.

Tonight we are suppose to have a BBQ dinner & car show in a local park. I haven't heard yet if it's cancelled due to rain. . . If not I may have more photos later, if not - tomorrow will be photos from the Cumbres & Toltec Steam Train!

Yesterday was a very long day, so I'm behind in posting. We left early to drive to Antonito to catch a bus to Chama to board the Cumbres & Toltec Railroad and ride back to Antonito.

There was heavy fog for the 26 mile drive from Alamosa to Antonito, this was the only picture I could get!

We parked the cars in the north end of the lot, to be watched over by the gift shop folks, they love the extra attention they get when great cars are in the lot all day!

Clair is walking back to the group after taking advantage of the hospitality of the gift shop that provided free hot coffee.

Denny taking video of the group with our bus in the background.

Took this from the bus, was happy to get a shot with no people!

I'll post more tomorrow... We have an early start time tomorrow.

Thanks Kathy for the great tour pictures. One of my favourite past times is looking at the tour pictures on the forum. Good to see you and Dave enjoying another interstate tour. I will be in Kenab next year and hope to catch up with a few of you friendly Texans again.
regards
Warwick.

Sorry for the delay in keeping up with posting, the internet would not connect last night at all, I will catch up once we are home - have TONS of pictures, and some even include Model T's! :-)

Happy Trails,
