I recently purchased a tool that will be very welcome in my shop. I've never seen one in real life and was glad to find it.

this is how it came...

and this is after creating a base for it. The front rollers can be removed and an adjustable pad on the front supports it as a tripod, or simply keeps it from rolling when all 4 wheels are in place. It's rock solid, unlike other stands that I've used.

Scott,

I'm impressed! Where did you find it?

I found it by accident on the Web. Search KRW tools and you'll come to krwilsontools.com.

Tim Hill maintains the site and is a true gentleman.

After research, I've found these things rarely hit the market and are either very cheap or very dear. This one was restored and in VERY good shape. Seemed expensive until I saw one sell on eBAY, unrestored for the same price.

Most that I found, when I found them, had the early V-8 adapter on them, not the T/A adapter.

The stand itself, without the base is about 180# and is remarkably substantial, and the structural tube base is equally substantial.

I'm really looking forward to putting it into use

Scott: I love mine. I found the KRW base for it and that made it better. Once you try it you will love it too. Dan

Dan Hatch:

At one time I had three KRW motor stands. One had the base, which I understand was made later during the early V8 Period. I really did not like the base and got rid of it. I found that a home made base like Scott has, rolled the stands around a lot better.

Scott Conger:
I think you will find it a lot easier if you enlarge the two holes that bolt to the block near the water inlet. It makes it easier to line up the bolt holes. I think my bolts holes in the fixture are now about 1/2

Dave: I think that you are right about the base being V8, But I still like it. Have you seen one the is just the head and mounts on a bench? A local guy here had 2 or 3 of them. I have never seen one anywhere but in his shop. They did not look homemade. Dan

I think have only seen pictures of the bench mounted bases. I would rather have a stand that I can move about.
