Due to old age or just plain ineptitude, I can't find the recent thread that told of a supply for window channel that was better for the T than the Model A stuff. I have used the search function and can't find the thread.
Help!
Prematurely Senile in Indiana

Mike,
That was my post. For my 27 Tudor I used:
Stanpro.com
StanPro
PO Box 8034
Novi, MI 48376
800-333-3265
248-596-6178
Their part number 75000038.
They sell through online retailers, Auto Parts Warehouse and JC Whitney. In the photo is the item from Snyder's on the left compared to StanPro on the right. You will still have to reuse the old clips and rivet them on or you can purchase new ones from one of the vendors.
John,
Thank you so much! I can tell from the photo that this channel will work much better!
Thanks Again!
Mike
I just finished doing this chore to all the windows on my '26 tudor. Used the product on the left but from Lang's. Bought the clips too. Let me tell you an easier way: Cut the channel to length but clip only on the bottom. Don't believe the vendor - the channel doesn't stretch. Simply Gorilla Glue the top! The stuff is magical!
I only installed the clip at the top and drilled a hole at the bottom and secured with a pop rivet. The Vendor kit also comes with a rubber strip for the the piece across the top. My 27 Tudor had the same channel across the top as the sides. It was secured with a couple of screws into caged nuts.
George, for the rear side windows, how do you get the glass out? I am reluctant to pull out my upholstery until I know how the glass comes out. -John
John,
In the restoration of my 26 Tudor, removing the windows was a little easier than you will have as my top was removed. So, once the upholstery side panels are removed, you will see an outer frame that is held in place by the usual 10x32 pan head screws. Remove these frames. Roll the window down, and unhook the felt channels at the top. Bring the window up then tilt to the inside. Your clearance will be close with your top in place, but it should be doable.
Yep, . .ditto what John said. believe it or not; I had 3/8" plywood with no felt channels in my 2 rear windows! What a hoot.
