I think I remember reading somewhere that in replacing the bronze bushing in the steering bracket that it is recommended to press in the new bushing forcing the older bushing further down in the tube or forcing the old one out if the bushing has been previously replaced. I would assume that it is necessary to drill a hole in the new bushing for lubrication. Am I right in this?

True, unless you have an earlier steering bracket that does not have a hole.

The early steering bracket bushing is one long bushing. The later ones have two bushings, one upper, and one lower. Looks like some beat on the top of Royces bracket.
