I was told I can charge the magnets all at once by placing the coil ring over them all and hooking a 180 amp DC welder to it and flipping the switch five times and that charges all of them. Can I use a DC welder to charge the magnets while they're in the car? Also, if I have the magnets off the ring, can I charge them individually with a DC welder?

3 12volt batteries wired in series is a lot better and more controllable. The batteries will put out more amps.
