so i got one of the neat tail light wire grommet hanger sets, only thing is i have no idea where these little guys are supposed to go. anybody have any ideas?
also the spring with the phenolic wafer on it, i know its supposed to go before the the tail light body but where? thanks!
nobody knows?
Check wiring diagram in the shop manual. It's hard to see,but it's there.
well at least i can see where the spring dealy goes,
i remember finding one of the grommet things attatched to the battery cable support bolt under the frame, which conflicts with the supplied diagram.
You haven't supplied enough information. What about the year of the car, and the body style?
The Ford service book shows pretty good photos of the tail light wire routing. If you have a spare tire holder in back, touring or roadster, there is a small hole in the top of it for a wire clip.
1923 roadster, im just wondering if anyone knows where the wired grommets go without having to guess. no spare holder.
I can't remember which bolt but the small wire wrapped around the grommet goes into a cotter pin hole on one of the bolts back at the rear of the car.
There's one at each battery bracket bolt and one up by the battery cable bracket. There should be a hole in the frame just behind the bracket. The 26-27 used one in place of the cotter key on the cable bracket itself.
Look in the service book. It tells all!
ive looked in my service book, but mine doesnt show where the grommets go,
its sounds like theres one at the cable bracket, one on each battery box bolt, then one more near the end of the frame that gets attached somewhere.
then theres the tensioner, im gonna have to look under the car and see where that could get attached. in the manual it shows it at the end of the frame rail,

Later the spring and wafer cardboard retainer was added when a few mods were done to the wiring for the tail lamp, more grommets with wire ties added.
