I just got a message from Constantine Mandyles that he had made Russia. He has been soaking his wheels every day and as bad as they are he has till made it. He still has a ways to go to get to Moscow.
I think he is the perfect example that Ts don't need to just be driven across town once a month to some Ice Cream Joint but can be driven more often and for longer distances.
Most excellent!!!
Wow! I doubt I'll ever drive mine to Moscow but it does get driven 10 miles up the road to the Ice Cream Joint once in a while. And a lot of other places the rest of the time.
I wonder how he gets around all the politics from entering each country. Is he going for a world record?
Hope he chronicles the trip like Clayton did!
Godspeed Constantine!
Will:
I may be wrong but I think he took care of as much of the VISA stuff ahead of time that the could. I imagine that coming from Australia helped also. If he had been from the US if may have been different (harder). You sure have to admire what he has accomplished. I even have always admired Ben Hardeman and the people that drive their Ts on his Alaska Trips ,
Constatine has more sack than most people on here. Hats off to him!
Great News!!!!
Respectfully submitted,
Hap l9l5 cut off
Wow, isn't that something...wtg, Constantine. May I hope to buy you a tall cold adult beverage of your choice someday. Failing that, I think I will have one in your honor tonight...grin...
"Constatine has more sack than most people on here. Hats off to him!"
Yeah, you bunch of pussies. ;-) I'm glad I got plenty sack.
Mike, Out of line here. Post talk like that somewhere else.
Scott
Wow, that's a major step to be in Russia. He should have pasted his last mountain range. About 1000 miles to go and if it was done in a modern vehicle, just about 20 hrs from Moscow. Maybe 40 hrs in the Model T.
Jim
Oh I see, Vanderberg can get away with it and I can't? Cmon Scott. I took his post as offensive as you took mine.
Nice mouth there Mike...
Did you like that Jerry? Part if it was a copy of what William had written. Apparently it's offensive to do that. Or maybe it's the fact that William can say we haven't got sack (what do you suppose he was alluding too with the word sack?) but I can't say the same people he was referencing are a bunch of pussies. There seems to be a double standard here. At any rate I apologize to anyone I may have offended by calling them a pussy.
ROFLMMFAO Mike!

Mike, You can call me what ever you like. But there are kids that read the posts. Thats all we are saying, Scott
I know Robert, you're right. I was going to make some kind of smart alec remark about cowardly kittens but we both knew as did everyone on the web knew what I was saying as we knew what William was saying. I'll admit, from time to time I forget where I'm at and my mouth works long after my brain has stopped. I apologize to the posters on this forum and specifically to you and Mr VanOoteghem. God bless -Mike
I wonder if he is in touch with Michael Gotesman....
Dick, I'm sorry for my ignorance but who's Michael Gotesman? Perhaps another foul mouthed person who couldn't mind their P's and Q's? At any rate I'm not in touch with him. Or is this you baiting me to get me to say something for you and the rest of the group to react too. I've tried to apologize. It's an honest effort and I'm trying to get into the habit of keeping my posts kid friendly. Robert's post was the one that hit home and I feel it is important that I don't use offensive language or references.
Michael Gotesman is a forum member from Russia......
Now that Dick mentioned him I wonder why he hasn't posted...... <shrug>
Jim Thode:
I hope you are right and he has passed the last mountain range. I think he was most worried about the mountain range between Georgia and the country before that, (I don't remember the name).
Great going Constantine. Hope to see photos.....
Opps,,, There's that old taste of foot in the mouth...Been known to chew a little foot a couple of times my self....Constantine, Your trip is one to be envyed, Best of luck to you,,,,Being from the United States it seems that anytime I cross into Canada its always the US side that gives me the most problems getting back in!
Yeah but my foot doesn't get washed enough and it tastes lousy. I guess I was so caught up in what was going on I wAs ready to attack anyone on here. I guess maybe I'm a little red in the face now. I'm sorry Dick. It's just that I had never heard of Michael Gotesman before. And now I'll bow out of the MTFCA. It's pretty obvious I don't belong in this group. I hope you don't mind if I lurk once in awhile. But I'll refrain from posting and avoid the conflict. And this will actually save me some money the next time dues in the MTFCA are due.
Mike, Michael Gotesman, as Craig says, is in Tula, Russia, is a T owner and has posted on the forum. I wasn't wondering if you were in touch with him, but whether Constantine was. As I recall, Michael was looking forward to Constantine's arrival. I'd have to go back and look at Maps, but I think Constantine's route takes him close to Tula.
Mike, don't worry so much about small stuff. This forum is all give and take. Relax. Here is a thread that Michael started a few months ago with some photos of his car, a very attractive young lady and one of himself.

Mike, Iam happy with your response. You stood up like a man and Iam sure everyone has accepted your apology. Please stick around and post like everyone else. We all slip up from time to time. Like me I run a water pump, 12 volts, modern plugs and a TH400 clutch. Scott
Ok. I looked at the thread about the cultural exchange needed with Russia. When is the Russian T tour?
Robert Owens:
what is a TH400 clutch ?
Robert, Oh my god! you run a water pump!! What's next a E timer? lol
No I have a distributor. The TH400 is the best clutch you can get for a T. It gives a great neutral in cold weather. You can feather in the shift. And it will go thousand of miles without warping the plates. Some will tell you Henry made 15 million steel clutches and they are the best but those people will change things in there cars and thats ok, go figure. Scott
Got to watch those power shifts on that super stock Model T eh?

Hey Mike,
I accept your apology. God bless you too. Don't go away so easily, I think you've probably got a thicker skin than that.
If we were speaking face to face I wouldn't have been offended. Just thinking of the "public face" of the hobby, that's all.
Happy T'ing!
Dick's post ...
Hmm ... I only saw one T there .. and a guy was in it .....
