I do not see any information in Russ Furstnow's Speedometer Book, Can someone give me the correct placement on the firewall? I have a Stewart Model 26.
Thanks guys
Dave
I have posted this info before but for ease of finding it, I created an entry in the document library just now at www.funprojects.com so that it can be referred to as needed. You will find a drawing there that you can download, print, and refer to as needed. All dimensions and info taken directly from Ford drawings here on file.
Thank You John, This is just what I was looking for! You are a great asset to the Model T Ford hobby with all the great correct information you have researched and share with all of us!
Dave
Did the placement continue the same in 1913 and 1914?
The distance from the bottom of the dash up to the speedometer mounting point remained the same when the dash got shorter for 1913-1914.
John-
I can't open your document Library. I re-downloaded Adobe, just to be safe, but it is still a no go.

Keith:
Not sure what to say - it works like it always has when I go there. Just checked and I selected a couple different things form the list and they opened up for me. The drawing that Royce posted is the drawing that is in the library as the latest entry and it seems to work. All library entries are pdf files.
Works now...
What would we do without those valuable prints and photos the archives has. They give us more information than we could ever dream of having. You also have to consider what actually happened on the assembly line too, which sometimes differs from what the prints say! One instance is the mounting of the speedometer in early calendar year 1913. The print says it is still the same as 1912, and it was for the early '13 models made in 1912. Early in the year they switched to the new model C speedometer which is flat mounted. The print however says that the angle mounted 26 is still to be used. Draw you own conclusions.
I have seen an original 13 dash with the 3 pilot holes drilled for Stewart 26 but then a flat speedometer mounted right over the holes to cover them up. On that particular dash it didn't appear the original mounting holes ever held a screw but I could be wrong.
