I recently saw high firewall with the patent plate above the adjusting rod holes. I've seen this before,
but it's kind of a rare thing. This one uses the '25-7 patent plate, with two rivets. Could this have
been a truck application, or Canadian, or maybe a late Ford replacement?
I saw this older thread that no one had answered. I was searching for how far back in the 1925 model year did the trucks get the 2 rivet Patent Plates. Well I still don't know the answer but I think that it must have been around March 25 when the frame mounts were modified for the TT's.
Anyway I have 2 TT's a late 25 and a late 26 that both have the 2 Rivet patent Plates mentioned by Larry. Does he mean that the Car Plates are different in 25?
Fred
My question was not the patent plate, but the location! I'm assuming the TT trucks used the one up high, whereas the cars were in the usual place. I just don't know why, or even if it was a TT truck thing at all. I also have a reproduction patent plate made by Vintique, and is supplied with two drive rivets, which is incorrect. They used split rivets, which are available from Langs.

Picture to add to the '25 split rivet used for the patent plate.
1925 High firewall used split rivets
1923 Low firewall used solid rivets
Good information Dan. You Always come up with real good useful information. Thanks.
