Mike, the only time a C is in an engine # is in front on the Canadian #'s, if yours is a US 6 digit # the 82**** is june 1915.

What your saying is it is a Canadian engine and was built June of 1915?

Mike,
No, if it is a Canadian engine the C should be in front of the number and Canadian numbers are different then us.

If your number is 826080 then it would be a US June 1915.

Here is the US list:

And the Canadian list:

I believe the Canadian numbers have a C before the numerals, not after. My guess is that what looks like a C to you is really a numeral. If so, your engine's date is Friday, June 18, 1915.

On the other hand, if your number is really 82608, that would put it most likely in late October or early November of 1911 (1912 model year). I say most likely because chaos reigns in the serial numbers during that period, with many of them out of sequence.

If your number is really six digits (82608?), my 1915 is one day older.

Thankyou one and all. The C is most likely a, 0
It is suppose to be a 1915 car. Mike Husted

Ha`!

I've had my laugh for the day, the hand written Canadian engine number list in the second link of Jim Thode's post above is a scan out of my list that I hand-wrote into my little notebook that I take to swapmeets. I think a few years ago, I scanned and posted it onto the forum for someone wanting Canadian numbers. Then it looks like someone else has posted it again... and perhaps again, for poor Hap only to wonder if it came from the early days !

Sorry Hap, it's in my writing, and is only about 10 years old, and I really can't remember where I copied it originally from.

I'll PM Hap to make sure he see's this post ! At the least it clears up it's origin.

Regards,
Bede

For Bede,

Thank you for clarifying that the “handwritten copy” of the Canadian engine serial numbers was actually from you. And also that it was relatively recent – i.e. within the last 10 or so years and not from a long time ago. I try to document where items come from so we can tell if multiple independent sources are reporting the same or similar information or if it was reported only once and the other sources are reporting what the first source said.

And thank you also for thinking of sending me a PM about this thread. It is the type I would like to make sure I read. I’m a slow reader so I cannot read all the threads and still get everything else done.

For Mike

If you find a body number, body letter, please let me know. For what and where to look, please see the posting at: http://www.mtfca.com/discus/messages/29/40322.html . And if you are researching a car and want additional items to look for to confirm it is a 1915, recommend you review the thread at: http://www.mtfca.com/discus/messages/29/13259.html .

Thanks to all of you for your support to our hobby and for helping us capture additional information about the Ts.

Respectfully submitted,

Hap l9l5 cut off
