With the exception of the first ill-fated plan this is how my grandfather cut firewood in the day of Model T's. Well, maybe he would have used his T rather the the mule.

Just for the fun of it,

Absolutely the best firewood harvesting video on youtube and I think I've seen them all. Jim, you made my day with that one.

Thanks Jim. I have left a comment with the Video.
Great work out video! Glad to see I'm not the only one that has a crappy starting chain saw .
I fixed that a few weeks ago though.
Jim: You could say it is on Topic if you used a T drive shaft to make the hole for your spring stick. Dan
Thanks Jim
That's what my grandfather did for a living
in the 1890 to 1920 in the area of Carson City Nv.
He had a Wood yard and Livery stable business next to The V&T railroad yards.
I've tried that(meny, meny) years ago. ouch.

I think Jim must be related to Steve Jelf. They both do great videos.
That last bit in the first video, must have been the same guy that set the times to do jobs on Model T's!
Back in the day I used a Mac 610 just like that to cut my firewood....It never gave me a problem,,, I think it is still being used today.... Great Vid, enjoyed it.
Love that "helper". Never seen that done before. Ingenious. Though I think I'd have repaired the power saw.
That saw was very sharp and that guy knows how to use it.
Jim-
Very nice.
It is the exact same way my Grandfather cut timber in the Sahara Forest.

Great vid! Looks like a PNW forest.
