I was told in a post not too long ago hoe to check the ratio in the rear end of a T. Jack up 1 rear wheel and count the revolutions of the wheel vs. the revolutions the crank. Should this be done with the trans in high gear? I have a ruxtell in my T. Should that be in high range or low range?

Hi, George. Yes, jack up one rear wheel, remove the spark plugs if you wish, set the Ford transmission in HIGH, set the Ruckstell in HIGH, set the auxillary transmission (if any), in DIRECT. Crank the engine over til the jacked up wheel makes exactly TWO turns. The number of turns you cranked the engine is the axle ratio.

Do not forget to block the other 3 wheels! The handbrake will be off to get the transmission into high gear.
