I got lucky on ebay and found this hood for my 25 TT project. It will need a bit more reshaping and a couple of small welds but otherwise perfect for my needs.
Excellent find! Looks to be in real good shape.
That is a great find! WTG, John.
Today I learned the difference between a 26-27 chassis and a 25 chassis. The holes are not the same!
I installed my 25 firewall using the 26-27 brackets. I then installed the radiator and shell and of course my new hood. That's right....nope it doesn't fit. The distance between the radiator and the firewall was too wide by about an inch. Off the the computer and MTFCA forums. I searched out every thing I could think of, no clear cut answer. I happened across a post with some measurements and pictures of the brake quadrant and realized my holes in the chassis differed from the picture. I verified all the measurements and I discovered the bolt holes for the firewall bracket were different. The front hole for the 26-27 set up is actually the rear hole on the 25 setup. I moved the bracket forward and every thing lines up. once I install the cab I will weld the from of the bracket rather than struggle to drill new holes. The cab will help ensure everything lines up.
Here are two close-ups of the bracket. The unused hole to the left is were the rear bolt for the 27-27 firewall would go.
dont think it will work with those fenders, splash aprons, with those hood shelves, and hood, your working with 26 27 stuff and 25 and older stuff, dont think it will fight correctly will it?
The bigger issue is not the fenders but where the holes are in the chassis. The hood shelves fit in the space but the holes don't line up exactly. I will have to drill a couple of holes for the shelves. The gap at the bottom of the hood looks large because the radiator shell is not pulled down tight and the hood is still a bit out of shape. I did tighten up the radiator mount but didn't take a picture with the hood closed. The picture with the hood open is after the radiator is snugged up. I will drop the cab on and bolt it to the firewall next. The cab mounts will be all custom. I do expect it to work, one small snag at a time.
I wouldn't weld it, if you ever need to take it apart you'll have a very hard time (drill the two holes).
My 2 cents worth ( been there done that)
Bob
I also would recommend drilling the two holes. I know, you must remove the side apron first. I still recommend it.
Looking good, however.
Drive carefully, and enjoy, W2
John, I think you have another problem than the holes being in the wrong place. All of the TT's from '24-'27 used the same high hood, radiator, firewall, hood blocks, and lower radiator shield that the '24-'25 cars used. From your number three and number five pictures, I can't see any problem with your hood. You show '26-'27 style front fenders and splash aprons, they were not used on the TT's. Are you sure you have a TT? If so, do you have the firewall brackets for a steel firewall? The ones for a wood firewall have a different offset because they are thicker. Dave
Dave I am building on a 27 T-car chassis. That is why the fenders and aprons are 27. The firewall brackets are the 27 for a steel firewall. The firewall and hood are 25 as well as the cab. When together it will be "different". I will have to make the mounts for the cab. I think the the front mounts may line up.....
I have a 25 frame for my 26 roadster body - the front mounts were close, but didn't line up - had to drill new holes for all six body mount brackets :S
Here are online drawings for both types of frames:

Thank you Rodger the drawings will be helpful
What do you think so far........
The front of the cab is now bolted to the firewall. I need to pull the lower panel off the back of the cab and repair the inner floor. While I have it open I will reinforce the rear cross member and make a pair of body mounts. I will also block and bolt the center cross member. I noticed the windshield frame is not true and plumb. The cab has a bit of a twist, need to devise a way to pull it. Maybe a hydraulic jack?
John I like your work, I'm in the process of about the same, I am using the early frame though. I never thought of using the splash aprons but like the look. Have fun, KB
I sell the wood kit for the top when you need it, also have extra cab pcs where cross bows go in case you are missing some
I have a C-Cab that I'm going to mount on a car chassis although it is a pre-26 frame. I stretched the frame enough to install a Muncie three speed with a full length driveshaft. It will make it look a little more "balanced" with more room for a bed.
Has anyone tried to fabricate one of these frame extensions....

John D. can you post a pick of the cross bows and other parts you have. The underside is rather bare, no mounts or tabs etc. I don't know what I'm missing. I intended to fabricate / weld a pair of plates in the rear to bolt or U-clamp to the chassis. Time to buy a wire feed welder!
Fred and Keith do you have any pictures?
John
I don't have any pictures, but there isn't much to show anyway. I just added I think 12 inches in the untapered part of the frame. I had completely taken the frame apart and reriveted it with hot rivets. I welded the splice with a torch and added a strip of strap iron inside the bottom of the channel riveting or bolting it in several places - mainly where there were already holes. I added an extra running board brace and planned to add a short piece of running board and splash apron.
Of course, most of this is still in my mind - maybe someday.............
