Howdy!

I got lucky and scored a nice old "train" whistle on the San Fernando Swap Meet. Marked $75, I got it for $50 including a foot pedal. Not bad, not bad at all.

I now have 2 questions:

1) Where to mount, and
2) How to mount.

The exhaust cutout the vendors sell, all have a female connector, 1" in diameter, if I'm not mistaken. The whistle I have, however, has a female connector as well.

- So where do I cut the exhaust to install the cutout?
- Are there female-to-female connectors available and, if so, where would I be looking for them?
- What exactly is the thread of these things? Is it pipe thread? Tapered?
- Should the cutout be pointing outward, so to the right side of the car, or downward?
- Or should I get a right angle piece and have it point forward?
-What's the proper, period-correct way to mount a whistle?

Thanks!
