I recently got this rivet setting tool. The pin comes down with about half a revolution of the handle. It's a neat little conversation piece that looks like it would work on hollow rivets. It has a base that has a little hump in the center to spread the hollow end of the rivet. It might have had at one time other style of bases that were stored in the holes you see in the picture from the top.
I suppose it would be ok for transmission bands or harness applications.
My questions are:
Do you think the handle is bent? It only fits the way is on due a taper in the shaft and hole.
What other types of "anvils" for the base would there have been? There are two holes that might be for storage.
thanks
Herb
The handle might be cast iron, if it is it would not be bent.Is anyone aware of other tools having a handle being made in the style of this one?
It just doesn't seem efficient at a design to have the handle bent like this.

What does it say on the side ? Any other writing ?
Dan, it appears to have the letters C F Co cast into it.

Looks like a tool for installing upholstery snaps.
