I recently aquired a few new toys. )in my quest for car kit tool shop tools occasionaly surface and I grab them.
The valve lifter is by KD MFG CO. out of Lancaster , PA. It is marked for use on A and B Ford cars.
The Walden Worcester 4564 is a ratcheting end band wrench, and it is in perfect working order.
The little L shaped wrench is for adjusting the generator of old Fords, as T's had a generator that needs adjusting I thought it just might be.
The Bonney reverse gear wrench is damaged and overstressed but intact yet.
The socket wrench I just picked up, it has a 5/8" socket end and a number on the shank. I still need to clean it up to read that number.
Brian, I think the KD valve lifter has been modified for some reason. Both mine have the lower fork parallel with the top fork. They go between the valve retainer and the valve guide boss when in use. It is a very good tool because the forks remain in parallel through their travel and the spring/cap remains straight up and down rather than cocked like the scissor type lifters.
Just for interest.
Allan from down under.
Allan, it is not a fork. Its a tab bent down. The tool shows little use and no mods. To verify it is the No. 307 model.
I suspect it was to push the spring up from the base of the valve spring area of the motorblock.
The socket wrench only shows a number, 512U. Styling is early SO but that is a weak point to guess from.
Hi Brian
This appears to be the patent for your valve spring lifter.
Note that it has the bent or vertical leg on the bottom.

I’m guessing Allan, without seeing your valve lifters,
that one or perhaps both may be similar to this patent.
Another possibility could be that the above patent was
used to cover both styles.

Thank you Art! I was tempted to ask the dates and whatnot but because its not T directly I did not.
It has a patent No. 1359814 and 1815980 stamped on the lower part. So I am in the 1931 to 1938 window.
KD makes and made some tools that last the test of time.
Your welcome Brian
You may have noticed in paragraph 1 of patent 1815980
that it states the patent covers improvements to the version
covered by the earlier patent number 1359814.
K-D (Kulp and Dellinger) have quite a few patents for valve tools.
