Is there a marking on the sidewall to determine a light or heavy side of a tire to mount in relation to the valve-stem?
Put some Dyna Beads inside your tubes and forget about any heavy spots. You'll get a smooth ride after about 20 MPH or so. Sort of like magic if you like that.
Yeah, I have Dynabeads, but they only weigh so much and can only offset so much imbalance. I'm hoping to mount the tire in such a way as to avoid exacerbating the imbalance. I seem to remember something about a blue dot (and there is a blue smudge on the sidewall), but don't know whether this aligns with the air valve or across from it.
Interesting, I'll have to check my Non Skid tires for a mark. You can always add more beads. I had one tire that I had to put in some extra ones.
You're probably thinking of airplane tires, Bob. Dyna-beads can't be beat.

My New Firestone's have the blue dot(s) as well, you make a good point why is it there ? I know they mark all the modern tires with green / yellow spots to show the heavy or lite side and that spot always mates with the valve stem location.
