In the July/August Vintage Ford which arrived yesterday is this:
FOR SALE – Pairs of iron bodies, roadsters, 1922/25. Part #5178B and Part # 5179B
Just curious. What are these?
They probably meant to say body irons, rather than iron bodies. (My body parts lists are at my shop and I'm not.)
They are specifically: Iron (body top) front R.H. and L.H. part numbers 5178BIRX and 5179BIRX respectively.
Iron body could be hot-rodder slang for metal body vs. plastic body.

The parts that the top bows pivot on when you put the top up and down? Many pictures of the parts here: http://www.mtfca.com/discus/messages/29/20560.html
The numbers and description I gave you are directly from the Ford Parts Book dated May 15, 1927
