I’m trying to put together this old Speedx tractor for a farm show in a couple of weeks. It has two pulleys on the drive transmission, which one do I use for power or speed? The small one or the large one? The engine pulley is a four inch. The two pulleys on the transmission are five inch and six inch. Sense I can control the speed with the rpm of the engine I’d rather set it up for the fastest speed I can get to drive around the show grounds.

Smallest pulley on the "driven" side, or largest pulley on the "drive" side.

If I'm reading it correctly, your "drive" pulley is 4" and you have the choice of "driven"

The 5" pulley will be spin 80% the speed of the engine
The 6" pulley will spin 67% the speed of the engine

Thank you, So I put the belt on the five inch pulley to gain the most speed. Thank you....

Use the 5-inch for higher speed; the other for more power (torque).

The engine to trans pulleys are expressed as a fraction: 4/5 or 4/6.
4/5 = .8 or expressed as a ratio of 1:.8 from engine to trans.
4/6 = .66 or 1:.66
