Was there a special wrench for the nut on the low speed band adjuster?
15/16 for the jamb nut and 9/16 for the adjuster. A big adjustment is about 3/4 of a turn. troop
Yes, there were many companies that put out a ratchet with a double end. One end was 15/16" for the large nut and the other ratchet end (some Only ) had a strange looking opening that fits the end of the shaft. You can use a 1/2" open end wrench on the shaft after you loosen the lock (jam) nut.
Email me in about a week and I will be able to send you a picture of some of them and the strange end of some of them.
#2335 fits the nut. The top two here are early and late versions of it. The bottom two are TT and V-8 wrenches.
I don't have a book handy to look up the number, but the smaller wrench here fits the shaft. A 9\16 will work, but a 17/32 fits a little better.
on all the T's ive seen its a half inch wrench to screw in the adjuster?
Robert, go to the hardware store and buy a 31/32 or 15/16 faucet socket....they are just like the old thin wall spark plug sockets and work so well on the lock nut on the outside . And you can use it on spark plugs too.
I tried a 1/2 on my 1915 and it wasn't quite big enough to fit. That's why I went with the 17/32. Maybe later adjusters were different.
They call them shower valve sockets....here's some for $3 each plus $1.50 shipping ....31/32 should work.

I recently was given this one. A Walden Worcester with the 15/16" fixed ring and a 5/8" ratchet end.
A friend and I both use the last wrench in the "green" picture... which I'm told is a Model A wrench. The tapered section fits better against the transmission cover & a wrench still can be used to hold the adjustment as the jam nut is seated.
