Just a heads up, their at it again. Almost 80 pre 1930 motorcycles are starting tomorrow for a run across this great land. Starting in New York, ending in San Francisco. Fun stuff, check it out. Just go to the AMCA web site or punch in Cannonball run.

Cannonball???
I thought that went away years ago...
I read about the original "Cannonball Baker Sea to Shining Sea Memorial Race" in Car and Driver when Brock Yates and Dan Gurney won in a Ferrari.
And when Brock did it in Moon Trash and later when he did it in the infamous Charger with the gigantic gas tank.
When it became known as “One Lap of America” my brother-in-law was interviewed by Good Morning America as a participant and later he became the rally master.
During one of our trips to Upstate NY, I sat in the historic Charger at Brock’s home.
Wow I haven’t thought about Cannonball Baker for years.
1929: Horsepower and efficiency gains enable a Franklin at the hands of Cannon Ball Baker to set a new coast to coast record of 69 hours.
