so im working on a collection of cars to be sold, and one of the cars has E&J 466's on it, and brass kerosene side lamps and tail.
heres the thing, its a white 1926 tow truck.
questions:
are 466's 1909-1910? or other years?
how can we tell if they are repops?(doubt it)
what are the tells on dating side lamps?
what are these worth?
Please see the section on lamps for additional details etc. at: http://mtfca.com/encyclo/I-O.htm#lamps It has the 466 for 1909-10 and has photos etc.
Respectfully submitted,

Matthew,
I don't think Hap understood your question.
E&J built lamps for many manufacturers besides Ford. Many truckers preferred carbide lamps to the electric lamps of the day because they were very bright and probably more reliable on a bumpy dirt road in the middle of the night.
The lights would not have been original to the tow truck but likely were retrofitted by an operator who wanted lamps that did not run on battery power. Or perhaps the person who restored that truck just liked shiny brass stuff?
Post a few pictures of the lamps. They have been reproduced by multiple sources for decades, and originals were made in several variations too.
