Does anyone know how to raise ,engine no or chassis no.
Ihave heard it can be found with chemicles.
It is very faint and cant read it.
thank you kenny.
Just for laughs Charles lay on a thin coat of perhaps white paint and use a sanding block to remove it after the paint dries. Enough might stay in the #'s to make it readable.
Charles,
If your number is very faint, maybe just an enhanced HIGH QUALITY photograph under the right light would be the easiest.
Here is one chemical method with a caution and instructions:

I've used white out for such things in the past. It's easy to apply and remove when you're done.
Put a piece of paper over it and rub the side of a pencil. It will trace the number on the paper.
Faint stamped numbers in metal that seems to be lost when sanding down to bare metal can be brought back! See this thread: http://www.mtfca.com/discus/messages/29/49673.html?1204987135

Interersting to note Roger, that's similar to how dates on old coins are raised after they have long since worn off.
Thank's very much for information.
I will try it and see what happens.
Kenny.
