Title- [Cape Otway, A. S. Kenyon's anthropomorphic photos]
A. S. Kenyon was a photographer for the Victorian State Rivers and Water Supply Commission.
The photo below is from the same source. Both are held by the State Library of Victoria.
Interesting T. A nice little pickup (ute). It looks like the hood sides are removed in the first photo, but on in the second photo. I can't tell for sure if it is the same T or not, but it looks to be.
The REO would appear to be 1912/13 because of the gas lamps. But perhaps later because the crank handle is not in place? And it is left side driven. That radiator and hubcap style went from about 1912 with the famous REO the fifth up through about 1916. The REO the fifth was Ransom E Olds' famous gaffe.
Thank you for sharing these photos.

Appears to be a 1916 RHD chassis with aftermarket express utility body, and some earlier kerosene lamps. Neat!
Interesting photo, Cape Otway is a nice green lush area, (may be in drought?) that photo looks more like high up in the Western district of Victoria.
Kerry, I'm with you. There's no way that photo is taken anywhere near Cape Otway. Cape Otway is one of the wettest ares in Victoria and the vegetation regime is heavy hardwood forest. That's no drought affected hardwood forest.
The trees in the background are mallees, multi- trunked specimens growing from an underground lignotuber. These are typical of dry inland areas, and if the photo was taken in Victoria, it would have been in the north-west towards Mildura. Even the Victorian Mallee region was more heavily wooded than that.
Just my two bobs worth.
Allan from down under.
Its possible that the people labeling these photo's have no idea or put labels on they just make it up for what ever reason. Often they are going on someone else's claim as to what is the story.
I like this one. It states "Ford Model T Rally gathering outside Burnett's Hotel Maleny. 1924"
Or this one which we saw a few months ago it's labeled Smith & Harvey Elizabeth St Melbourne when it is actually Parramatta Rd Forest Lodge Sydney.
Reminds me of an old (American )saying.
"If you can't dazzle them with your brilliance, baffle them with your bullsh**!"
But I am enjoying the photos and dazzled by your brilliance. Thank you.
