Our club did our quick assembly car show today at the Wheels in Motion car show. I went to help in my new to me 25 tudor sedan to show off my new car. As I am one of the announcers for this show I always invite people to ask questions after the show.
A D. T. Warner came up to me to ask me some questions about my car. Turns out he is on holiday from the UK and is following Route 66. He just happened to see this show and was amazed with our quick assembly, (4 gals and 2 guys reassembled the car in 11 minutes 43 seconds). Turns out he owns a 27 touring, right hand drive of course. I gave him my card and invited him and his wife to drop by this afternoon and see both my cars.
My wife and I were working in the back yard when they show up. I gave him a tour of my garage and workbench, he was amazed with how my Stobo Spark works and all the accessories we can get for our cars. We took them to supper in my 25 touring then, of course, to get some Ice cream for desert. What a great evening we had. Certainly not the day I had planned. Diana and I are on the right. DT and his wife are on the left.
Now that IS a good day. Great way to end the summer, Steven.
Wow ... sounds like a perfect 'T' weekend! Great being an ambassador, eh? Sounds like they are quite the enthusiasts as well, to do such a trip!
Steven, the current generation's term for your day is "Way cool!" When I was at Webster High in the fifties, we'd have said that it was "Real george!" (Don't even ask. I have no idea where that came from or why.) In the time of our cars, it would have been "The bee's knees." However you express it, though, it sounds like a great day.
Steve and Diana are great hosts. I was lucky enough to be one of their guests. Had a wonderful time visiting with them. Might even see them again next year if I make it to the Speedster Rally.
Dave, You are welcome any time!
Steven
Is that a brass plated radiator shell?
Steve,
What fun! Thanks for being such great ambassador for our club and hobby. I suspect the "assembly demonstration" would always be a hit with the crowd.
Respectfully submitted,

Kep,
Yes that is a brass plated radiator shell, radiator neck and headlight rings. That is the way I bought this car. It is an interesting look.
Hap,
We draw big crowds when we put on this show. We will only do it once at any given car show and the disappointment from those that miss the show has been apparent. These quick assembly show only last about 15 to 20 minutes but the time for set up and display just before is a lot.
