There were several type of tire/wheel on the market. Below is a description of a non clincher 1903 panted tire that has a bolt through the feloe similar to the Ford ad drawing. It is even a tubeless.

Our 1906 N has holes plugged and clincher rims added to convert from one of the early "non clincher" rims it used.

Maybe Doctors were a good target market. Affluent, and a car makes more sense for those "spur of the moment" calls such as delivering babies ( house calls).

It’s a trick -- the step plate is hidden in the illustration by the front fender. It is similar to stepping up on the Model T running board -- but your aim has to be better.
