. . . .for sedans. What has everyone had success with? And what technique do you use? I'm prepping the '19 centerdoor for the Texas T Party and will soon have to clean the Classtique upholstery in the '26 tudor. Probably a wet/dry vac is too energetic for sucking up a sudsy cleaner and might rip upholstery, huh? And while we're on the subject; do you use a pad under your wool carpet? Thanks guys
Not in a car, but I've has good results using K2R on furniture. Classtique tells me recent. That should stand up to a shop vac OK. You could ask Elizabeth to be sure. I would think that if there are no stains, just vacuuming should be enough.
I've used Woolite Fabric and Upholstery cleaner it seems to work well. If your afraid to use your shop vac (some more powerful then others) take the extension wand and drill a few holes in it to lessen the vacuum. If you drill too many just duck tape them closed.
The Woolite mentioned in my other post comes in a spray can. Easy to use.
George -- Why not contact Classtique and get their recommendation?
Ford recommended gasoline for cleaning grease from the wool. I can attest it worked great. Just a dab'll do it.
Thanks for all the recommendations guys. What a novel idea for the extension length Dennis. I never use it for anything else so I shall drill some holes in it. I think the shop vac is 5 HP - about as much as my first lawnmower. I'll get some Woolite Fabric and Upholstery cleaner and some K2R. Have never heard of either. What about the carpet pad? Anybody use a pad under their carpet? I found some good carpet at SMS Auto Interior up in Oregon and will have 3 sets of carpet made.
