I am in Wenatchee, Washington, after some smoke filled days in Colorado. I went across the columbia river yesterday to visit a collection of old parts including some choice items. Included in the parts was such things as speedometer swivels, Wilmo manifolds, carburetors, and ruckstells. After I left I could see three large fires near Wenatchee, one headed towards the Wenatchee City Limets. By the time I got back to where I was staying the smoke was even worse than where I live in Colorado. There had been a state wide lightning storm the night before and fires were springing up all over Washington. I understand that by yesterday afternoon there was 114 wildfires. By the time I got to the house were I was staying Helicopters were flying by with borate. There was even a smell of smoke in the house. The wind was blowing strong and the fire advancing fast. The sheriffs office had the streets closest to the fire blocked off. I told them I was only going past their road black for two blocks so they let me by. They were even checking drivers licenses so they could determine where you lived. For some reason they did not check mine. I may have had a tough time with a colorado license. When we got up this morning the mountain closest to town was burned off and no fire. Every thing is black as can be. The fire is now on the mountains further south. So far no homes have been lost but a lot of houses have been evacuated. There is a strong wind again today so I sure nothing can be done with the fire as it burns South.
If any body from Washington wants to visit the parts collection, contact me and I will have an address for you. There are also many, many model A parts.

Here's what you have to look forward to, Dave. Be safe.

Funny how the warnings follow state lines.

Your check is in the mail, Dave. (At least it will be by the time you get home.) Thanks for the tranny shafts.

This picture was taken a couple of days ago by some one in Wenatchee. The city limets and homes was much closer to the fire than its looks.
