Hey Guys...

Still working on wheels these days. The bolts and nuts arrived yesterday that will hold my demountable wheels/rims. I have electro-primed the lugs, but the bolts/nuts from the vendor? Should I prime and paint these as well? Woun't they rust if I don't?

Michael

The originals came plated (cadmium?), not painted. Why not give them a dose of car polish and use them as-is? If they start to rust you can strip them and give them a good spraying of Oklahoma chrome.

The new repros are plated already, no worry, will last for years and not rust. Unless you scar the finish with wrenching.

These are at least 6 years old. Have changed out tires and rims and wheels but used the same 'new' bolts.
