The Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting at the new Model T Museum is scheduled for Friday, September 28, 2012 at 6 pm. Friday kicks off Oktoberfest in the Depot District--a fun, fun weekend is planned.

Today the Pietenpol airplane is being assembled and mounted at the Model T Museum. Very, very exciting!

We hope to see many members at the Grand Opening (and many Model Ts!).

Maybe now that the museum is opening, the Vintage Ford will get back on track? For the last few years, there have been speedster articles, Chevrolet articles, and reprints of old articles. I'd like to see a rerun of '09-27 articles, and articles on members cars.

Barbara,
Was there last week and was truly amazed at how far the museum has progressed! Looking great!
Ruth gave us the grand tour of museum and Benny Young showed us some of the other sites in town.
I would encourage anyone traveling through the area to stop and take a look around Richmond....especially the Model T museum!

Barbara,

Are you able to post any recent photos? Any recommendations of places to stay?

Dennis,
We stayed at the Comfort Inn out at the freeway. It's only a mile or two to the Museum from there.
The museum is located in the Historic district so there are other things to do and fun places to eat just across the street. Remember the picture of the building "on fire" in the current Vintage Ford? That is across from the museum and where the restaurants are.
I know know you'll have a great time!
Floyd

There's also a nice bed & breakfast in town. Ask Jay Klehfoth.

We're visiting on our way out to Iowa from Philadelphia for a family wedding next Monday, probably again on the way back a week from Monday.

Was there last Saturday with our club and a Model A Club. Only 60 miles from home so drove the T. Museum is great. Got a great tour by the attendant. I soon think it will need to be expanded.

A big thank-you to Fred Houston for donating the airplane, Mike Bender for helping deliver it, and Tony Wiltshire for designing and building the base. And to the volunteers who you see in the vidoes who helped make it all possible.

The plane looks AWESOME in the Model T Museum. Wow!
