I have been out of town for a couple of weeks and have received questions about the tour. I have tried to answer the questions but in case I missed some I will post the information here. The TV stations have been showing some of the aspen that are changing color, they should be at their best the last week of September.
Itinerary
September 29th: we will depart Loveland, Co.for Walden, Co.
September 30th: Travel to Grand Lake, Co
Oct 1st: Kawuneeche Valley and Walden Co.
Oct 2nd:
The roads are good paved roads, with little traffic and wide shoulders. While auxillary transmission are good there are Ts on this tour every year with out them.
For more information on the annual tour and Motel list please contact modelt1912@msn.com.
Note we hare received requests from out of state people and locals to do a day tour before the tour to do Trail Ridge. So even though it will not be part of the tour we will do Trail Ridge on the 28th. There will be a trouble truck stationed in Estes Park.
I would like to post some pictures of past LEAF PEEPER TOURS.
scene on the way to Walden
This is the Cascades that you will see on day one. Its above our lunch break at Rustic and is right along the road. A Kayaker lost his life trying to run this cascade.
We will stop here for pictures
After we get close to Walden we will be in HUGE Cattle country.
This was some Ts at the river rock cafe on a previous tour, in Walden Co.
Some of the best shots of Aspen is on the Way to Grand Lake.
We should see heards of elk in the Kawuneeche Valley, some mush clser than this picture.
