Hey Guys....

Anyone have experience with painting over e-primer?

I have had my rims and hubs e-primed after I blasted them. I then sprayed them with one of the duplicolor paints (silver) and the stuff is not sticking. When I put the tires on the rims, the paint is just waaayyyyy to easy to scratch off. I can scratch if off with my fingernail.

Obviously, I've missed a step. I'm thinking I may have to prime over the primer, no?

Thanks,

Michael

How was the primer prepped before painting? The e-coat, or any other primer that has aged for more than a few dayts, should have been sanded well before painting. 320 wet or dry if you were applying topcoat directly (not recommended), or sand with about 120 grit, apply primer/surfacer, sand with fine grit, then paint with top coat.
