WOW! $500,000. in sales of 1903 to 1923 Ford's in that auction. Where's the beef. The 1903 went for $101,000. and the 1904 went for $103,000. I could buy a lot of Model T's for that.

I thought 15K for the '23 touring was pretty out there too.
I guess it was a VERY good day for the seller!

A sale like this gets a lot of interest (with so many early cars). I didn't see any great bargains.

Hope the cars are out on the road again and not in a museum.

There was a guy there buying for a museum somewhere in South Dakota, he spent over $300,000.

No cars for me today, a couple of lamps & some horn parts.

Chris, if it is the guy in green pants, I'm pretty sure he's buying for a museum in Oregon.

Last Spring in south Texas an Oregon museum spent well over $300 K at the Rosanky auction of Dick Burdick's collection. Thats gonna be a museum worth the trip. . . .

Well that's news to me, unless it's the air museum in Hood River. I guess they have a really good car collection. A number of cars there are on lone from the owners.

I just got home this afternoon. It was an enjoyable show, and it was good to see some forum guys. It will take awhile to get some pictures ready, then I'll post a report.

I agree, it was a lot of fun. I thought most of the parts sold quite reasonably. I thought most of the cars sold quite high (just my opinion).

I assumed the 'big' buyer of the day was from the Pioneer Auto Show in Murdo, SD. At least that's what it said on the hat he was wearing.

Here are the two big sellers of the day-1903 A and 1904 AC.

Steve, I'd be glad to add some photos to your post, too.

There was a fellow at the Cleveland auction in Nebraska last year who was buying for a museum that was going to open in Oregon. He was bit of a "dumpy" guy with a backpack, and a complete idiot. If he started bidding, other bidders might as well stop ( unless you enjoyed running him up). You could tell he wasn't spending his own money, and enjoyed spending someone else's.

Anyway, sounds like a good opportunity to see a variety of cars and meet. Forum members. Wish I could have attended.

Rob

Rob, there was an original operator's manual for a K there, I tried to buy it for you but there was a guy who was buying literature that had a LOT more money than I did. I bid all I figured I could to give it to you as a present and didn't know if you would want to spend more for one so I let it go. It was pretty neat, just a little black cover book about three inches wide and 6 inches tall, a dozen pages of small print. I know who got it; if you want to know email me.

That guy (number 60)was not spending his own money according to what I heard. He was buying for somebody else. He was not buying for the Pioneer Museum in Murdo, Dave Geisler was there and had consigned a couple cars to sell. He would have bid for himself.

One of the A's went to Israel, the International highwheeler is going to Australia. However, the F went to John Tissy in Crosby, North Dakota and one or two of the other cars stayed local -- at least that's what they were saying. John T is the short, heavy guy with the white Santa Clause beard and bib overalls who was in the golf cart. He pays a guy to go along and bid because he can't get around too well and is not too tall, they had such a crowd around the cars he was afraid they wouldn't see him bid so he had Glen do the bidding for him. He has quite a collection.

Seems that this auction have created as much fuzz afterwards than the Ålholm auction that RM auctions held some weeks ago here in Denmark. Its stil being discussed when more than 2 cars freaks are gathered and everyone have an opinion.

I assumed the gentleman with the backpack and the Pioneer auto Museum hat was from there. That was my mistake. I got to meet several people in person that I have met here, as well as see some old friends. I saw some wonderful cars, saw lots of accessories and parts, and had a fun day.

Ned,

I really didn't care for that fellow.

Fortunately, I know how to keep my opinions to myself :-(

Rob Heyen:

I think this might be a picture of a small pile of brass that the guy from Oregon bought at the other sale.
