Pics of our new top boot. Took our youngest to Church this morning sporting our new boot. The large top with headliner blows around too much without a boot when the top is down.

With the boot on the top/boot are entirely disconnected from the car. This way the top can be removed from the car easily and held together by the boot.

Rob:

Thanks for sharing the photos of the top boot. It looks very nice.

Now.....please get those rear tires replaced before I take the wheel again.

Cheers,

Timothy

Love seeing a car like that with dusty tires. :-)

She looks cold. Did you forget to install the rear heater controls when you put it back together?

I hear Nebraska winters can be pretty nasty.

Such a pretty car and a pretty young lady ! Best to lock both up when the boys come around ! Seriously, fantastic job on the car ...it really is nice ! Hard to believe Henry wasn't much for them

Tim,
Hope we have K races at Hershey.

Dave,
Being from WI, I'm sure our winters pale in comparison to yours. The problem with Nebraska winters is the wind (and all of the great plains).

Dan,
I'm starting to discount the stories that "Henry hated the Model K". The car has great engineering for a 1906/1907 car. The horsepower to weight ratio is very good (another Ford trait) and the price compared to other cars with comparable features was low. In fact, the next two 6 cylinder cars on the market in 1907 cost $700 and $1200 more than the K. Also, the sales numbers (over 950 over a two period) were quite respectable.

Rob - Are you bringing the K to Hershey? If so, will you have it in the swap meet as well as in the show?

It sure would be nice to see it again.

Thanks, Keith

Keith,

Yes, I intend to bring both our K and N to Hershey. I have two stalls west of the stadium. This year I'm hoping to arrive Tuesday and will stay through Saturday.

Besides Keith, I owe you a ride in the K, so look me up. I'll start a thread when we get closer to Hershey with my spot number.

I heard it would be in the swap meet and that he was hoping to get $30K for it. :-)

Craig,,

This one will be on the estate sale :-) (or divorce decree :-().

It's funny, my girls always tell me the one (car) they want. The oldest girl is practical, and always picks the most valuable one. The younger (in the K) chooses the one she thinks looks best. Now they both pick the "K".

With both daughters interested in the K makes me think you need to start looking to add another one to your stable.

Maybe we should talk..........
