Congratulations Constantine!!!!! Well done sir!!!
CONGRATULATIONS! Constantine
What a great accomplishment and my hat is off to the Model T ambassador of Europe.
Congratulations to the Model T ambassador of Australia, Africa, Asia and Europe
What route are you going back? ;)
I have previously asked whether the rear end in this car is the same unit that Constantine purchased this car with? If so, this response can be reliably predicted to become very interesting.
Regards,
Scott
Outstanding!
Dean Yoder -- What do you think of this guy?
I have a question as to where is the picture number 5 from the bottom in the "Photos" section is the "Church" and other buildings surrounded by a wall and towers that are both round and square? Showing a span of time it was built in.
Where to now? across Russian to Alaska and the across North America? Stop in Idaho, we have some very good Vodkas.
Best
Gus
Congratulations. What an epic adventure.
Rob
That has really been something. I'm such a lightweight, I worry about driving my T 3 miles to the grocery store.
Well done!
Congratulations.
I've been keeping track since you were in southern Africa.
What an adventure.
Congratulations, Constantine!!! An accomplishment of gargantuan proportions! Can't wait to see the magazine articles and documentaries!
Congratulations, Constantine! Please watch the weather and your timeline and try to be in the southern regions by winter time. The Russian winters can be deadly especially if they arrive early, before one is prepared for them. Both Napolean and the Nazis owe their defeats to the Russian winter also referred to as "General Winter". http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Russian_Winter, which is due to begin toward the end of October, a little over a month from now (Today is Sept. 17). Be careful and again, well done. Good luck. Jim Patrick
Congratulations , Constantine !If you do Moscow -Paris and through Holland let us know we will meet you !!!!
Toon
Congratulations! Now it is time to drive across Siberia, China and ship the car to Alaska and down through North and South America. That way you can say your car went "around the world!"
Whatever, you are a far braver man than I am. I haven't even driven across our state in mine.
Norm
Respect!!!
A true testament to an incredible man, and the car of the century!

Top Notch
Well done Constantine. My hat is off to you sir.
Thank You Constantine for doing what most of us can't and allowing us to experience it through you.
Not only Congratulations, but Thank You!!! What you've done is shown that our meager, spartan, and ancient vehicles are STILL, all these decades later, up to the tasks first put in front of them long ago, and will not just barely scratch by, but do so with class and ease, AND look good doing it!!!
I hope you have a good set of 30x3 1/2 tire chains and side curtains for the balmy Russian winters!!
Congratulations Constantine. What a great feat !!
Be_Zero_Be
I am glad you made your journey and now what are you going to be up to? A book? Thanks for all the news.
Congratulations Constantine!!!
We are all looking forward to hear what your future plans are for the yourself and the Model T.
Congratulations Constantine. You have lived one of my dreams!
Constantine. Speaking of a book, are you taking plenty of pictures and keeping a diary to record each day's trials, tribulations and triumphs? If not, it's never too late to start. Also, if you haven't, now would be a good time, while its' all fresh in your memory, to try a re-create the trip and general dates of when what happened, where. You can refine the dates later with purchase receipts you have kept for gas, parts and meal purchases as well as postings here on the forum and the dates on your Visa's for the various countries you have driven through. Jim Patrick
Cooey Cobber!!! Well done, mate!!!
Outstanding run. Good show, and congratulations to your little Ford. Not only a Ford, a Model T Ford, the worlds true Muscle Car. God Bless you Constantine and thank you for your courage to take on such an endeavor.
well done Constantine, NOW what about the return drive ????
David.
Constantine,
Somewhere Henry is looking down and smiling about his Universal Car and what it can still do a 100 years latter.
Fantastic trip.
We need to make sure the news outlets know about this accomplishment.
Larry
Congratulations, Constantine!
For anyone interested, a while back I started making a MS Word file of all of Constantine's posts to this forum where he updated his progress / asked for help etc. I didn't copy all the responses, pretty much just Constantine's posts.
There are a few posts from others from when they were updating us on his progress when he couldn't log on himself. If anyone wants a copy, just send me a PM. I hope I got them all - I used "Constantine" as a search term and went from there.
I'm hopeful, like the rest of us, that, after a much-earned rest, Constantine can put together a travel log or book or something, along with photos etc. Hmmm... perhaps a serial format published in the Vintage Ford or Model T Times over the course of a year? One can hope.
Maybe he can do the trip in reverse; this time with a camera crew?
Constantine
If you could store your car near Moscow and get all repairs taken care of this Winter, you could continue East next spring from Moscow through Sibera on in to China then to Alaska through Canada and then the US ending in Nova Scotia then across to GB then South East(over the Alps) to India or feather East and then home. This is the dream that I would have, but will never happen for me. Thank you for sharing your great adventure with us.
Just trying to help Constantine--GRIN

Well Done ! And my wife thinks I'm crazy for wanting to just drive a Model T from One end of the Philippines to the other ....
Wilf you could say that again!
Well done!
Brilliant!
Constantine,
The members and your friends at your home club, The Model T Ford Club of Victoria, congratulate you on the success of your great journey.

PS: did you ever find any of Alby Mangels' blonde's ?
Constantine
WoW ! You are a very impressive fellow, as well as brave !
You've done something that most of us could never do. Glad to hear your ok, and Thanks for proving the car were all so passionate about still can go further than many of us can imagine.
At last!
Congratulations!!! See You at the Gallery!
When something like this was done back at the turn of the 20th century when automobiles were still a novelty, it was worldwide news and a history making event, such as, Horatio Nelson Jackson making the first transcontinental drive across the United States in his Wilton in 1903 with his dog, Bud. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Horatio_Nelson_Jackson.
Something like this should garner the same worldwide attention, as it is a truly inspiring story of one man and his antiquated machine, attempting to realize a dream and a goal, in an age when there are very few dreams or goals anymore, or will and the gumption to make them a reality. Constantine is a true hero that should be given the credit and worldwide attention this great accomplishment deserves.
I'll bet a story like this would make everyone want a lanky little Lizzy of their own and really further our cause. Anyone else think this would make a good movie? Jim Patrick.
PS. In a world where there are very few heroes anymore, I rank this up there with Lindberg's 1927 accomplishment, but the media, these days, has been conditioned that bad press, scandals, wars and tragedies get more attention than feel good stories of heroic achievements. What a pity when this is exactly what the world needs at this time. Jim Patrick
Jim P,
I agree.
Constantine.
How 'bout an update. We haven't heard anything in close to a month. Are you still in Moscow? How's the T holding up? I checked the weather in Moscow and it is starting to get cold there. Where do you plan to spend the winter?
Take care.
Jim Patrick
PS. Does your T have a name? I'm sure she's taking on a personality of her own.
G'day Constantine,
Good on ya mate!!!
What a bloody marvelous achievement! The spirit of adventure is dying in this sit on your arse and press a button world. To do what you have done take a lot of get up and go that is a rare commodity these days.
How are you getting home? Driving back the same way?
Peter
Congratulations, Constantine! You have accomplished WAY more then may of us even dream of! Here, here!!!!
Constantine, REMARKABLE!
The Boys just can't stop dancing......
Hi Everyone,
Once again, thanks very much for your kind words and congratulations.
Andrew, the photo of the church you ask about is in Georgia on the Georgian Military Highway.
I had to leave Russia as my visa was ending and the weather was starting to get cold in Moscow. I'm now in Crimea, Ukraine which was a 1400km drive from Moscow.
Constantine
If I figured correctly, the 80 octane is $11.43 per US gallon.
No, much cheaper than that.
1 USD = 31 RUR
Oh...I see how you got that, the photo is in Russia, not in Ukraine.
So 1 liter cost 24.70 RUR
Then one gallon would cost + 3.79 liter/gal x 24.70 RUR = 93.56 RUR/Gal
And to dollars = 1/31 RUR/USD x 93.56 = $3.02 / gal
Pretty cheap.
Jim
A few of you have asked which way I'm driving back to Melbourne...give me a break!
Shipping the car back to Australia will not be cheap plus I will have no where to store it there which is not a small problem. So I've decided to try to sell the car. If it goes to a car museum or collector who puts the car on display like it was in Moscow I think it would be great.
Well done Constantine--You have done us FORD T nutters proud.
I can't begin to tell you how much I'd love to own that car. I could never afford to buy it but that car is a world wide treasure. It really should end up in the MTFCA museum with it's story. I'll bet Henry would be so proud.
To try and put another perspective onto just how far Constantine took his great little T,
If storing your car is a problem i have the same one. The trick is to put it somewhere different every night, Usually where nobody is staying.
