Dose anyone have hard facts on if we are allowed to use electric golf carts at Hershey. I don’t see anything on there web site about it but I’ve seen others say they are allowed. I’d hate to make the trip all the way there and not be able to use it and I sure as heck can’t afford $200.00 a day for a rented one. I’v sent an e mail to the web site but as of yet I still have not got back an answer.

Will,

I'm not an expert but know of guys who managed to use personal golf carts AND had State placards for Handicapped.

I looked at the Hershey Region web site and did find this...

Go to the AACA web site , click on forums. Then go to the Hershey meet forum and think you will find your answer there. Or you can post your question there and they will know the answer. Good luck, Dan

It would not hurt to check your home owners policy for the personal liabilty coverage amount.I think my renters policy has a 300,000 limit.this insurance, according to my state farm agent, will cover me if I hit someone useing my golf cart away from home if I am handicapped.

according to the website "...contact Scooterbug for more info..". I did that and was told I COULD use my own personal ELECTRIC ONLY golf cart with my FL handicap placard that has my FL drivers license number on it. "Register at any swapmeet entrance." I didn't get into the insurance thing with them, but, most campgrounds insist you have insurance on your golf cart, and at my house in SC, you can ride them on secondary highways within 2 miles of your house, but, you must have insurance. Ins is cheap. Mine is about $30/yr with State Farm. Since ins companies offer ins on golf carts, I would question them thoroughly about your "homeowners" ins covering you 500 miles from home if you run into someone's million dollar Prevost!

Well that is odd because I had a policy strictly on my golf cart and it was 158 dollars a year.Exact same coverage as my cars and trucks have.
The agent was aware of what I got it for,1 show I attend 35 miles from home, and when I explained others were getting prices like yours from Farm bureu and others he checked and found my policy,a renters policy, has a personal liabilty rider on it.According to him i am covered.
I am just repeating what I was told.
I canceled the golf cart insurance after I got back from the show in july and allthough he told me all this, the policy my buddy got from farm bureu "spelling",was cheap like yours,I will probably check with them and get it.The way people drive around here, aint no way I am gitten on the road with a little 3 wheel golf cart! Can you say "Smash"?
