After getting my T to SoCal finally, the valves have not been adjusted since it's rebuild. I've noticed that there is a little more lifter noise towards 3/4 cyls. I know the basics but is the adjustment (10g int./12g exh.) done at the heel of the cam lob ? This car has 280 cam and Z head. I have a slight leak in the manifolds and will be replacing the gaskets, so why not adjust the valves at the same time. Thoughts ???

george, Tim had a video on facebook some time back that showed how step by step, its how I did mine, and it really made all the difference in the world

i meant youtube.........
George -- Yes, do it at the heel of the lobe. The point should be straight down. This would be a great time for it.
If it's a Stipe 250 or 280 they recommend .010" clearance on both intake and exhaust but I always shoot for closer to .011" on the exhaust just to make sure.
Thanks guys, thats what I thought.
Rob, great vid but I won't be removing the head anytime soon (I hope !!)
Mike and Gene, it is a Stipe. I remember years ago adjusting my bug and #4exh. was always 2g's looser because of lack of cooling back there. I'll shoot for 10/11 on intake and 11/12 on exh. Exh. is always the hotter valve.

PS, I miss Tim's posts, hope he checks in more often.
